The Enlightenment

Hey everyone! So today I had the privilege of helping an organization called Horizon International Medical Mission (HIMM) do a health fair in our small town. Dr. Okere, founder of HIMM, explained to me what they do stateside and internationally. I have wanted to be part of a medical missions team for some time now but didn't have a group that I knew enough about to join. Well now I do and I am really excited about the possibility of joining them next year in March when they go back to Nigeria. They go once a year and usually have 2-3 doctors, a pharmacist, a dentist or dental hygienist, nurses, and ministers. They also enlist the help of local health care professionals to assist. It sounds like an amazing opportunity. They are able to provide medications, dental treatments, and perform medical procedures these people normally wouldn't be able to have access to. We are able to treat not only whats physically ailing these people but we are able to witness to them. So hopefully in the end, we will be able to say that through God using us we have been able to heal both body and spirit and bring these people to know God. It is a mighty thing to be a part of and I hope I will be able to. I will be posting updates on the trip and how fundraising efforts are going. Please pray for me as I seek God's guidance, pray for the other team members as they are preparing to go, and prayer for the people of Nigeria that God will already be preparing their hearts.
